ECONOMY AND ENVIRONMENT INSTITUTE – VIETNAM

The Economy and Environment Institute – Vietnam (EEI-Vietnam) is a partner-member of the Economy and Environment Partnership for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA Partnership). EEPSEA Partneship developed from the Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA Program) that was founded in 1993 by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).

EEI-Vietnam was established in April 2016 at College of Economics, Hue University. EEI-Vietnam’s mandate is to develop capacity in environmental economics research and to provide quality consultancy services and sound advice to policy makers.

To fulfill its mandate EEI-Vietnam seeks funding from different sources for research and capacity building activities. EEI-Vietnam collaborates with other organizations to address environmental and natural resources issues.

MISSIONTo improve the governance and management of environment and natural resources for benefit of current and future generations.
GOALS
  • Capacity Building: To enhance the capacity of researchers and policy makers through training and policy dialogues.
  • Research: To conduct policy-relevant research to address economy and environment challenges in Vietnam.
  • Partnership: To collaborate with local and international agencies, non-governmental and governmental organizations making joint efforts to address environmental and natural resources issues
