EEI-Vietnam launched at Can Tho University

CANTHO, VIETNAM—EEI-Vietnam wEEIV launchas formally launched last November 23, 2015 at Can Tho University, Vietnam. A scientific workshop was held as a venue for Vietnam environmental economists to present their studies. Lecturers from various universities and institutions attended including Nong Lam University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, NhaTrang University, Da Nang University, National Economics University, Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment, Forestry University, Vietnam National University of Agriculture, and Can Tho University. Six papers were presented during the scientific workshop, five from Vietnamese researchers and one delivered by Dr. Mitsuyasu Yabe of Japan’s Kyushu University on Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems and its Perspective in Vietnam.The meeting also served as a venue for the discussion on the future direction of EEI-Vietnam, focusing on its sustainability and membership. Suggested key research areas are air and water pollution, natural resource conservation, climate change, and green economy.
