Upholding EEPSEA’s mandate in capacity building, the EEI-LMS will continue to offer training courses for LMS countries focusing in particular on Lao PDR and Myanmar these being countries which may have greater needs for an in-country course which are more tailored to the level of advance in teaching and research capacities in this field. Courses offered will include general introductory courses on environmental economics which can be tailored to the varying needs of either economists, resource managers who are non-economists, or specific target groups such as members of the justices, Cost Benefit Analysis, Valuation Methods.
To offer these training courses, EEI-LMS will draw on the Resource Persons within the Region who have themselves been trained by EEPSEA and acquired research experiences through EEPSEA’s financial and technical support. Many of these are EEI-LMS’ Management Team, i.e., Dr. Orapan Nabangchang, Dr. Rawadee Jarungrattanapong, Ms. Kunlayanee Pornpinatepong, Dr. Piyaluk Buddhawongsa and Dr. Phumsitth Mahasuweerachai. Others are EEPSEA’s Alumni, namely, Dr. Udomsak Seenprachawongse and Dr. Adis Israngkul Na Ayudhaya from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) and Dr. Kannikar Thampanishvong from the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI). Also among our pool of experts in the Region is Dr. Phouphet kyophilavong, EEI-LMS’ Board Member from the National University of Laos (NOUL).
