EES-Cambodia partners with local organizations to hold four seminars
PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA—The Economy and Environment Society – Cambodia (EES-Cambodia) co-sponsored several events on various environmental issues in the country. The first is a workshop on Green Economy, Environmental Protection and Agricultural Development, which it jointly organized with the Prek Leap National College of Agriculture (PNCA), the Union Federation of Youth of Cambodia, and the China Foundation for Peace and Development. The event was held on December 4, 2015 and was attended by about 50 students, university faculty members as well as representative from NGO and government organizations.
The Society also jointly organized three half-day seminars with PNCA and Winrock International on the following topics: (1) land conflict on January 22, 2016; (2) forest restoration in the Southern Cardamon Mountain on January 29, 2016; and (3) agricultural management under climate change on February 25, 2016. These three seminars were mainly attended by students and faculty from Phnom Penh universities. The last seminar, which featured speakers from the International Monetary Fund and the National University of Singapore, drew a crowd of about 110.
