EEG-Philippines holds regional forum in UP Visayas
CEBU, PHILIPPINES—To make EEG-Philippines visible in the Visayas region of the country, the 1st Regional Forum on Economy and Environment was held at the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) on March 2, 2016. Recognizing the importance of the academe in the realization of its mission, the Group partnered with UPV and Oeconomicus, an academic UPV student organization, in holding the forum. Dr. Rommel Espinosa, UPV Chancellor delivered the opening message during the forum.
Besides introducing EEG-Philippines, the forum featured a series of presentations on the economy and the environment delivered by EEPSEA alumni. More than 100 students and faculty members from various universities and institutions in the region attended the event. Among the forum presentations was Dr. Emelyn Peñaranda’s (DENR Region VI) talk on the present economic and environmental issues in the Visayas.
